Vocaluptuous
All-Female A Cappella Retreat
From how to arrange for female voices, to dealing with everyday group interaction, all-female a cappella ensembles have to overcome many issues specific to their needs. Therefore, AcaBelles of Florida State University are hosting the first ever “Vocaluptuous: All-Female A Cappella Retreat.” Vocaluptuous will be a weekend-long retreat of information sharing, bonding, and networking with all-female a cappella ensembles from throughout the South on October 10-12, 2008 at the Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. This year we will be hosting the UNCG Sapphires, UNC Cadence, and UF Sedoctaves.
The purpose of Vocaluptuous is to gather information from other groups that have similar concerns. Through forum-style workshops and interactive critique sessions, this retreat will serve as a time to share experiences and learn from others’ mistakes and accomplishments. Vocaluptuous will also be a great way to meet all-female groups that you otherwise may never get to know. We hope that this retreat will serve as grounds for bonding within groups before the whirlwind of competitions, concerts, and conventions begins.
